چکیده

Doppler Tissue Imaging (DTI) is a new technique that provides an image information on values of intramy-ocardial wall velocity. This speciic capability makes easier the automatic myocardial boundary extraction and tracking task. We apply a variation on active contour models to an M-Mode Ultrasound image. This is in fact an image made from a time sequence of digitized 1D images. To the feature energy term derived from the grey scale conventional ultrasound image, is added a velocity term that makes the time displacement in the image close to the DTI data velocity. This permits data fusion of the two images obtained from conventional and DTI techniques. We illustrate the eeciency of the method that is now used by clinicians.

Non-invasive estimation of cardiac wall stress by using tissue doppler-echocardiography ultrasound images: People with coronary artery stenosis

In this study, a method for non-invasive estimation of stress on the heart wall in  the diastole phase is presented using ultrasound echocardiography and tissue Doppler  imaging. The aim of this study was to evaluate the stress on the heart wall as a  pre-diagnosis  to identify people with coronary artery stenosis. 29 patients with stenosis of more than 70%, 30 patients with stenosis of 50 to 7...

Evaluation of tissue doppler echocardiography and T2* magnetic resonance imaging in iron load of patients with thalassemia major

Background: Iron-mediated cardiomyopathy is the main complication of thalassemia major (TM) patients. Therefore, there is an important clinical need in the early diagnosis and risk stratification of patients. The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of tissue doppler imaging (TDI) to study cardiac iron overload in patients with TM using T2* magnetic resonance (MR) as the gold-standard...

Estimation and Analysis of the Deformation of the Cardiac Wall Using Doppler Tissue Imaging

This paper presents different ways to use the Doppler Tissue Imaging (DTI) in order to determine deformation of the cardiac wall. As an extra information added to the ultrasound images, the DTI gives the velocity in the direction of the probe. We first show a way to track points along the cardiac wall in a M-Mode image (1D+t). This is based on energy minimization similar to a deformable grid. W...

Tissue Doppler Imaging versus Conventional Echocardiography in Evaluation of Cardiac Functions in Diabetes Mellitus

Background: Conventional echocardiography and tissue Doppler imaging have been highlighted to diagnose diastolic and systolic heart dysfunction. We aimed to compare tissue Doppler imaging with conventional echocardiography to diagnose heart dysfunctions in diabetes mellitus type 1 (DMT1) patients. <s...

Doppler Tissue Imaging in St-elevation Myocardial Infarction

Highly available, noninvasive and cost-effective, echocardiography remains a keystone in the evaluation of patients with coronary artery disease (CAD). Echocardiographic assessment of cardiac function at rest and during dobutamine stress has direct clinical implications. Conventional echocardiographic parameters however, are partly based on visual interpretation of cardiac motion, thereby subje...
